Helping Churches Develop Strong Marriage Ministries

A ministry of the San Antonio Marriage Initiative
What We Believe

We believe:

  • God loves you and is concerned about you and your family
  • He has a specific plan for your life which includes possibilities beyond your imagination
  • God is in the restoration business and is eager and willing to help you overcome life’s obstacles
  • The Bible provides guidance, hope, and direction for life and relationships
  • Marriage is God’s idea
  • The marriage covenant is a life-long commitment between a man and a woman
  • Children are gifts from God
  • Children are little people who need love, care, guidance, protection, and security
  • The things which are impossible with men are possible with God - Luke 18:27

As a Religious Christian organization, we believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that the term “marriage” has only one meaning, which is the union, sanctioned by God, which joins one man (male from birth) and one woman (female from birth) in an exclusive personal relationship which includes sexual intimacy (Genesis 2:22-24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:22-33). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and woman who are married to each other (Proverbs 5:18-19; Hebrews 13:4).

Our Theological Beliefs:

Winning Families is built on the following tenets of the Christian faith. These beliefs shape the philosophy and values upon which this ministry is built.

We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 2 Pet. 1:21)

We believe in One God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut.6:4; Isa. 43:10, 11; Matt.28:19; Luke 3:22)

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Scriptures declare:

          A. His equality with God; (John 1:1; Phil.2:6; Heb.l:3)
          B. His virgin birth; (Mart. 1:24; Luke 1:31,35)
          C. His sinless life; (Heb.4:15; 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:22)
          D. His substitutionary work on the cross; (1 Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21)
          E. His bodily resurrection from the dead; (Matt. 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor. 15:4)
          F. His exaltation to the right hand of God; (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit as the revealer of divine truth, comforter, guide, and intercessor of all believers, by whose indwelling presence, believers are enabled and empowered to live a godly life. (John 3:5-6; 14:16-17; Rom . 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19; 12:13; Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30)

We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, which cannot be earned by any effort on man's part. (Eph. 2:8,9; Rom. 3:24;2 Tim. 1:9)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ as one body, of which He is the head. (1 Cor. 12:14-27)

We believe in Christ's visible and triumphant second coming. (Matt. 24:44; Acts 1:11; Col. 3:4; 2 Tim. 4:8; Heb. 9:28; Mark 8:38; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; 2 Thess. 1:10; Rev. 1:7)
